Tata Chemcials to expand its Mithapur salt plant

Tata Chemicals Ltd is planning to invest Rs.1000 million over a period of two years to expand its Mithapur plant capacity in Gujarat. It is increasing its capacity from 5.5 mtpa to 8.0 mtpa. The company is producing Rs.5000 million worth of salt and after capacity expansion it will produce salt worth of Rs.8000 million after two years

British Petroleum plans expansion of petrochemical plant at Gujarat

BP (British Petroleum) a leading petrochemical giant is planning to expand its foot print in India. It plans to set up a petrochemical in Gujarat to produce purified terephthalic acid (PTA), a product used to manufacture polyester and fabric. The company is in talks with Indian oil refiners to procure paraxylene which is developed by naptha. BP, has a global market share of 20% in PTA and is present in countries China, South Korea and Malaysia in Asia.

Lanxess India commences operations from Jhagadia Chemical Park

Lanxess India Pvt Ltd, a leading speciality chemicals company, which has relocated its plant from Thane in Maharashtra to Jhagadia Chemical Park in Gujarat has commenced operations. It produces global rubber oil and mineral oil additive markets as well as antioxidants for the Indian tyre industry and rubber industry. The Jhagadia plant will also house a ion exchange resins plant.

Prasad International to expand pigment unit at Padra

Prasad International to expand pigment unit at Padra in Vadodara district of Gujarat. Currently, the unit is manufacturing K Acid and Gamma Acid and is to be expanded to manufacture Chrome pigment and Pigment Beta Blue of 100 mtpm. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 20 million.
