Hempel Paints to set up plant in Gujarat

Hempel Paints, a Denmark based paint manufacturer is planning to set up a paint manufacturing facility in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. The new facility will have a capacity of 10 million litres per annum and will mainly for marine and industrial applications. The location is yet to be finalized and is expected to go operational by 2013.

Trience to manufacture CVPC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) in Dahej

Trience Speciality Chemiclas, a joint venture company between Meghmani Organics, Mitsui and Kaneka Corp of Japan is planning to produce chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CVPC) in India. Currently, Meghmani Organics has a plant in Dahej in Gujarat where it manufactures agrichemicals besides caustic chlorine where it will be used as raw material for Trience. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 6000 million and it will produce 20000 CVPC per annum. CVPC is slowly used as a substitute of copper hot pipes and the demand is growing in India. Currently, India imports around 50,000 tonnes of CVPC. In the joint venture, Kaneka will bring expertise, while Mitsui will handle raw material movement and marketing of the product.

Galaxy Surfactants implementing an expansion programme

Project Location : Jhagadia, Bharuch district, Gujarat

Galaxy Surfactants, which manufactures of surfactants and speciality chemicals has implemented an expansion programme at its Jhaghadia unit in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1300 million. The plant is likely to go operational in September 2011 and while expansion of three units in Taloja in Maharashtra and Tarapur in Rajasthan will be completed by 2013. It may be noted, the company has 66 products in its portfolio mostly speciality chemicals for home care and personal care industry and it exports to over 70 countries. Gulshan Polyols plans expansion of its Jhagadia unit

Gulshan Polyols Ltd is planning to expand its Jhagadia unit in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project involves expanding manufacturing facilities to produce starch derivatives from Maize or tapioca from 10,000 MTPM to 14,131 MTPM. Land required for the project is around 31.5 acres. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 135 million.
