Mayur Dyechem Intermediates to expand its dyechem unit in Karkhadi /Dudhwada villages in Padra Taluk in Vadodara district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 690 million. The project also involves setting up a cogeneration plant of 2.6 MW. The new unit will produce DMA Vinyl sulphon, K Acid, Benzanilide, J Acid, NMJ Acid, Sulpho Tobias Acid and the expansion capacity will increase from 4,200 tpa to 45,000 tpa. Glaubera Salt, Sodium Bisulphate, Sulphanilic Acid, Acetic Acid, Spent Sulphuric Acid will be produced as by-products.

BASF is planning to set up a greenfield chemical plant in Dahej in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 10,000 million. The new facility will manufacture polyurethane and chemicals and polymer dispersions for coatings and paper, automotives, appliances, architectural coatings and adhesives. The project is likely to go operational by 2014. The project is to be funded through internal accruals and loans.
Jubilant Life Sciences is setting up a manufacturing plant to produce Symtet - also called 2,3,5,6-Tetra Chloro Pyridine and Chlorinated Pyridine derivatives of 5,000 TPA at Bhaurch SEZ. Symtet is used in the manufacturing of Chlorpyrifos, one of the world's largest and safest, low-cost insecticide. The project is likely to go operational in 2012. The company has disclosed that this project forms a part of its Rs. 3500 million expansion programme
