Sumeet Industries to enhance its capacity of PFY at Surat in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1650 million. The unit was established in 1993. The unit is presently manufacturing Polyester Filament Yarn @ 12,000 MT/Year & Power from Captive Power Plant @ 2.5 MW. It is proposes to enhance production of existing product i.e. Polyester Filament Yarn from 12,000 MT/Year to 48,300 MT/Year and add a new product i. e. PET Melt/Chips @ 51,700 MT/Year. The unit also proposes to install Natural gas fired captive power plant of 4.0 MW capacity. The details of the Products to be manufactured along with their production capacity are given below:

The project has been commissioned in first quarter of 2011 and the second phase is being implemented now. It will set up a greenfield continuous poly condensation (CP) plant with a capacity of 200,000 tpa to produce yarn and bottle grade pet chips. This project will include a 20 MW natural gas-based genset power plant with a total investment of Rs 4000 million.
Gujarat Polyfilms to expand its nylon yarn unit at Palsana in Surat in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 240 million. The project involves setting up of backward integration programme for manufacturing Nylon Chips from Caprolactum. The unit is involved in manufacturing of Nylon Yarn @ 500 MTPM & Power from captive power plant of 3.6 MW. Industry now proposes to add new product i.e. Nylon Chips (750 MTPM) which is the main raw material for the nylon yarn. The captive power generation will be @ 1 MW. The details of the Products to be manufactured along with their production capacity are given below:
