Despite the slow-down in August-October of last year and piling of inventory levels, Haldia Petrochemcials is proceeding with its capacity expansion programme. The reason could be that the demand picked after November and projections on East India is bright. The capacity expansion would be 30% across all product categories.

HLL reported a 2.5 percent decline in net profit for the quarter ended 2008. The fall is accounted on certain exceptional and extraordinary items, the reasons being the last year quarter , there was a sales of a property and this year, there is a advance sum paid in court in connection with a legal suit.
